Loveland Widow Disability Benefits Attorney

Widower Disability Lawyer in Loveland

The loss of a husband or wife can be very difficult. If the union was a long one, the circumstances may be particularly stressful, especially if there was a family to support. Becoming disabled after the spouse is gone only serves to make the situation rougher.

At Busch Law Offices, our Loveland Social Security disability lawyers can help you obtain the widow or widower disability benefits you need. For over 25 years we have helped hundreds of spouses understand the process for obtaining these benefits. We are here to help you seek success with your claim application.

How do I qualify for widow or widower disability benefits?

There are certain minimum requirements that must be met in order to qualify for these Social Security disability insurance benefits:

  • The surviving spouse or former spouse must be between 50 and 59 years old. Once the age of 60 is reached, you may qualify for benefits without having to be disabled.
  • You must fit the Social Security Administration's definition of disability.
  • The marriage must have been at least 10 years in duration.
  • You must have become disabled before the death of the supporting spouse or before the divorce, or up to 7 years after the death or the divorce.

In order to receive these benefits, it is not enough to show that you are qualified to receive them, we must prove that you are disabled as well. As we have over two decades of experience preparing these applications, we know exactly what evidence to provide and how to present it to maximize the likelihood that your application will be approved.

We must show that you do not have the capability of working full time at any job whatsoever. This may be due to your physical disability, or may also be the result of both a physical and mental disability that fall under the guidelines of the Social Security Administration. If, for some reason, your application for benefits is not approved, we will help you with the appeals process, aggressively presenting your case at the hearing to get the disapproval reversed.

Contact a Loveland Widow Disability Benefits Lawyer if you are a widow or a widower and need help to obtain the financial support your family needs.

  • The Busch Law Firm was the best choice I could have made.

“The Busch Law Firm was the best choice I could have made. Brett Busch was a top-notch Attorney and represented me during the three year legal process with Workers comp as well as a personal injury claim. During these three years he guided me through the process to maximize my claim. He kept me well informed and was prompt to return my calls or emails whenever I had a question or concern. Deidra Deery , Brett's Paralegal at the Firm , was more than helpful anytime I needed assistance. As a matter of fact everyone I spoke to at the Busch Law Firm was kind and caring any time I was in contact with. This Law Firm and Brett were always professional and most importantly effective in resolving my legal issues.”

  • You were a God send.

“Thanks Brett....what you did for is the last 2 years were a God send and above and beyond your call of duty having to put up with and all my confusion and patience on your end. You and your staff are wonderful people that I believe truly want to help and not just for the money. It feels like I list a friend after closing my case and no more communication. You will always be a good memory. If you treat everyone like you did me you will always be a success. Merry Christmas”

  • You were always there to answer questions.

“I can think of nothing you can do to make things better. You were always there to answer questions. You always took the time to talk to me and make me feel better about things when I was upset. No one ever made me feel like I was a chore or that I was bothering them.”
